May 13th, 2012: Reflecting on Motherhood
Reflecting today on motherhood. It is crazy because I remember like it was yesterday that I was pregnant with Jax (10 plus years ago). I read every pregnancy book I could get my hands on. I followed all the rules with what to eat, I never took any over the counter medication, never drank a sip of alcohol, did yoga, interviewed several pediatricians, washed all his clothes in the special baby detergent, had everything ready on the checklist and listened to classical music on Jaxson's delivery date and yet nothing could prepare me for the journey I have been on. Having my son has been the greatest joy but also the scariest thing I have ever done. He is counting on me to make all the right decisions. I am so proud of him and so blessed as he has taught me so much. I read this quote today and it felt so true and reminded me to sit back and enjoy this ride. I know one day I am going to be 90 years old sitting in a rocking chair reflecting on my life and the one thing I want to be able to say is I lived life to the fullest, I didn't always play it safe and I jumped off the waterfall! Quote I liked today: "Life may be a roller coaster but remember even roller coaster's reach their destinations as long as they stay on track!"

Running a Half Marathon for a Great Cause!
I am still sore but so happy I didn't give up. On mile 10, I saw many give up and take a ride back (I kept going). The blisters on my feet, tell me I will always keep going even when it's tough. This was definitely something I thought I could never do and woo hoo I did it!!
All for a great cause helping TACA (Talk About Curing Autism) and bringing awareness!

Interview video with a phenomenal doctor! Dr. Derrick Lonsdale on Autism Approved!
Check out my interview on Autism Approved TV as I talk with one of the very first Biomedical doctors ever trained to treat autism with these types of therapies, Dr. Derrick Lonsdale. I’m so excited about this interview! It is so amazing to talk with someone like Dr. Lonsdale who was one of the pioneers at the beginning of the biomedical movement so many years ago with Bernie Rimland. He offers such an amazing viewpoint of how that began and how much it has evolved today!

Raun K. Kaufman shows us that Hope is REAL!
Seeing is believing!
Sometimes you’ve just got to see it to believe it, right? Don’t miss this! Here is one of my favorite people and someone you have to hear if you haven’t already. I’m talking about Raun K. Kaufman. If you need some hope, Raun will give you some! Raun K. Kaufman was once diagnosed with severe autism. Not mild autism, severe autism to the point where his parents were told to basically “forget they ever had him as a child and put him into a home” when he was just a toddler! Today, Mr. Kaufman is the Director of Global Education at the Autism Treatment Center of America® which is home of The Son-Rise Program™. He travels the world sharing his story and he will make you laugh and cry all at once as you see what amazing recovery really looks like. Listen to him tell his story of how his parents helped him, while passing on a few tools and tips to help our kids today. We must never give up hope, and here is a prime example of why!
